The Design Process

Initial Conversation


Our design process begins with a conversation with you.  Tell us what colors you like, what design features you prefer (no sleeves, scoop neck, asymmetrical, etc.) and what the costume will be for.  Do you have a specific song?  A specific look/feel that you are trying to achieve?  All this information will help us create the perfect design for you.

Design Drawings


Once the initial conversation is over, we can begin to create drawings to send to you.  Through an iterative process and your feedback, the end result will be a design that you love.  During this phase, we will also look at fabrics, colors and embellishments.

Once you have chosen a design, we can establish a price.

Measurements, Contract, & Deposit


Accurate measurements are key.  Proper measurements will ensure a proper final fit with minimal alterations.  We have many required measurements and can walk you through the measuring process.  

We'll send you a simple contract, and require a 50% deposit to get started.

For best service, please allow at least a month after contract, deposit, and measurements are completed for construction.



Our first task will be to create a custom pattern for your item based on your measurements.  When we cut out the fabric and start construction, we will send you pictures along the way.  You will be able to watch the construction of your item so when it arrives, you will know exactly what to expect.



Approximately 50% of our finished garments need no additional fitting.  For the rest, minor alterations may be necessary to adjust the fit so that it is perfect.  If you are not near us, we will send the item to you 2-day priority and we can do a video chat fitting.

Final Garment Delivery


After the final fitting and payment, the item is ready to put on the floor.  We will deliver to you in person or by mail, and would love to see pictures of you in it for our site!
